5/27/09 Bedtime visit

Any type of movement Bob makes is celebrated with great delight by everyone. Tonight, he made the funniest facial expression that made us laugh. I was wiping his forehead with a washcloth that was not quite warm enough for Bob. He wrinkled his nose and forehead, as to say, "What the f***!" He doesn't talk or make noises yet. He can't move his arms far enough to push things away. Like I said, any movement is celebrated; his facial expression was funny.

I can't wait to get a hug from Bob. I miss him.

Bob is at OHSU, 3181 SW Sam Jackson Park Road, Portland, OR 97239-3098

  1. Jan, Bob,

Tell Bob I am going on vacation in Las Vegas for a week but will be checking this blog daily from our condo. Also, tell him we will be going to our favorite dueling piano bar where for a few measely dollars you can have a song dedicated to someone. I am gong to request I Get Knocked Down by Chumbawamba and dedicate it to Bob.

    Lyrics below.

    Hang in there Bob

    John

    We'll be singing
    When we're winning
    We'll be singing

    I get knocked down
    But I get up again
You're never going to keep me down

    Pissing the night away
    Pissing the night away

    He drinks a whisky drink
    He drinks a vodka drink
    He drinks a lager drink
    He drinks a cider drink
He sings the songs that remind him
    Of the good times
He sings the songs that remind him
    Of the better times

    I get knocked down
    But I get up again
You're never going to keep me down

    Pissing the night away
    Pissing the night away

    He drinks a whisky drink
    He drinks a vodka drink
    He drinks a lager drink
    He drinks a cider drink
He sings the songs that remind him
    Of the good times
He sings the songs that remind him
    Of the better times

    "Don't cry for me
    Next door neighbour..."

    I get knocked down
    But I get up again
You're never going to keep me down

  2. Hi Jan & Bob,

We have added your family to the prayer chain in Michigan. Know that our thoughts and prayers are with you.

We have not yet met, but Michael has told me all about you and Bob. We plan to visit in the future when Michael has some time off. Have never been to Oregon, but hear it is beautiful.

Tell Bob, excellent picture (the one on this blog).

I will forward this blog to my friends in Michigan as they are continually asking for an update. Great idea Jan!

    God Bless

    Terri Popilchak
