PARTY
1. You are invited to our house Saturday, March 20 at 2pm - whenever for a Welcome Home party for Bob.
2.There will also be a one-year Survival Party, May 29th for those who need more time to plan. That is Memorial weekend, so you'll have a four-day weekend. More details will be coming.
Wow, you all amaze me. I drove to WA to see my t today. He had a stack of mail in his room that took a bit of time to read. He enjoyed listening to me reading each of the encouraging messages that were written. He laughed at some, and got choked up on others. Thank you.
I was able to attend Bob's physical therapy session. He is walking with his walker like he really doesn't need it. He looks like he can throw it to the side and go it alone. I think it's somewhat of a security thing. Time for the cane! Maybe by the time he leaves in two weeks.
I talked with both the OT and PT specialists today. It was interesting to hear the different standpoints from each. One, I could have shaken; the other, I could have hugged. The one, I would have fired; the other, I could have promoted. The PT was so worried about having supervision at all times, like Bob couldn't function at all; and the OT said she took Bob to the kitchen to have him do a few tasks. She said he has difficulty initiating the first step, but once prompted, he got all the rest. She said that is typical of stroke patients. She also said that once he gets home and into familiar territory, he may eventually have no problem. Thank goodness for one positive person! Finally, I'm not alone in my thinking.
Bob is willing to stick it out for two weeks. I won't see him until I pick him up to bring home in thirteen days. Think I can make it? Yes, I can. Lay the bets down.
A PRAYER FOR TODAY
Heavenly Father, thank You for the good future that You have prepared for me. Today I choose to come into agreement with Your Word and declare Your blessing over my life. Keep me close to You as I surrender every area of my life to You. In Jesus' Name. Amen.
