Welcome note

When my husband and I set out to find and take pictures of wheelchair accessible waterfalls in every U.S. state, we were excited about the challenge. We gave ourselves no time limit to accomplish our feat; however, we had one mutually agreed upon rule that dictated how long we would stay in any given area. That rule was to never shiver again. Needless to say, adhering to this rule presented a new challenge. The new challenge was to find a waterfall that was actually flowing. Visiting mid-west and eastern states during months that prevented us from shivering are the same months that are hot enough to dry up streams; hence, little or no water flow for waterfalls. The natural scenery and picturesque landscapes warrant a second visit in the early spring right after the snow melts.

Bob's stay is extended for one week...Ugh...

PARTY #1 is canceled. Bob will not be coming home on Tuesday. :-( He will be having surgery on Monday to have the shunt removed from his head. It is exposed at the entry point right above his forehead. The medical staff are fearful of infection. He had an xray an CT scan done today; everything is good. So, the shunt will be removed, then they will observe him for a week to see if he retains fluid on the brain. If so, it will need to be replaced. If not, he's good to go. I will be going up tomorrow, then staying for the week.
Bob's second bleed and second admission to the ICU back in May was when it was inserted. At that time, he was on blood thinners, so the wound didn't heal, hence the second bleed. He's not on blood thinners now; I hope it won't happen again. I know it won't happen again. The procedure is supposedly low-risk. Ramp-up the prayers again.
Sorry about no posts the last two days, I moved Bob's office, therefore, everything was unplugged. Getting it reconnected required a visit from a technician from the phone company. Am I addicted to the Internet? I'll discuss that in a future blog.
