Welcome note

When my husband and I set out to find and take pictures of wheelchair accessible waterfalls in every U.S. state, we were excited about the challenge. We gave ourselves no time limit to accomplish our feat; however, we had one mutually agreed upon rule that dictated how long we would stay in any given area. That rule was to never shiver again. Needless to say, adhering to this rule presented a new challenge. The new challenge was to find a waterfall that was actually flowing. Visiting mid-west and eastern states during months that prevented us from shivering are the same months that are hot enough to dry up streams; hence, little or no water flow for waterfalls. The natural scenery and picturesque landscapes warrant a second visit in the early spring right after the snow melts.

We're back...

WE ARE HOME!
We got the thumbs up from the neurosurgeon to go home. Bob doesn't have to return for a follow-up visit for a few months. He will receive monthly CT Scans at the Roseburg VA, however, which, then will be read by the neurosurgeons in Portland. If they see any concerns, we will be required to travel back to Portland for possibly shunt re-insertion.
The doctor said, today, that Bob's blood vessels have not changed in size since the removal, which means, no extra fluid has built up in his brain. I need to be aware of any changes in Bob's speech, walking, and cognitive awareness. Any deterioration of these things may mean fluid build up on the brain, hence, a new shunt to drain the excess fluid.
The best news, according to the doctor, is the aneurysms have been fixed; so, it is unlikely that Bob will have another ruptured aneurysm. And, he doesn't smoke anymore; that health risk is gone. He's not diabetic. He has a slightly elevated blood pressure. He doesn't drink alcohol in excess. He doesn't do drugs. The only health risk that needs worked on now is the weight.
PARTY
There will be a one-year Survival Party, May 29th for those who need more time to plan. That is Memorial weekend, so you'll have a four-day weekend. More details will be coming.
