Welcome note

When my husband and I set out to find and take pictures of wheelchair accessible waterfalls in every U.S. state, we were excited about the challenge. We gave ourselves no time limit to accomplish our feat; however, we had one mutually agreed upon rule that dictated how long we would stay in any given area. That rule was to never shiver again. Needless to say, adhering to this rule presented a new challenge. The new challenge was to find a waterfall that was actually flowing. Visiting mid-west and eastern states during months that prevented us from shivering are the same months that are hot enough to dry up streams; hence, little or no water flow for waterfalls. The natural scenery and picturesque landscapes warrant a second visit in the early spring right after the snow melts.

target "go home" date is the 30th...

I love getting all of your emails giving me encouragement or support. I love it when I receive phone calls doing the same. I especially like it when I'm approached by friends when I'm out in public giving me support and encouragement. I have learned the meaning of a true friend. People who were friends of Bob's that I never met, talk to me like they've known me forever. That gives me such a warm fuzzy feeling. That's a feeling everyone should feel at least once.
The target "go home" date is now the 30th. One of the neurosurgeons called me today (believe that!). A CT scat will be done tomorrow before he goes back to the Vancouver VA. I made an error yesterday. I said CAT scan. sorry for the confusion. Then, another one will be done on Monday. On the 30th, he'll go back to the Portland VA hospital to have a follow-up visit with the neurosurgeons. At that visit, it will be determined whether the shunt goes back in or if Bob heads home. The purpose of the CT scans are to see if fluid is accumulating in the brain; which, the shunt helps to eliminate. So far, though, so good. Cross your fingers and pray loudly.
PARTY
CANCELED1. You are invited to our house Saturday, March 20 at 2pm - whenever for a Welcome Home party for Bob.
2. There will also be a one-year Survival Party, May 29th for those who need more time to plan. That is Memorial weekend, so you'll have a four-day weekend. More details will be coming.
A PRAYER FOR TODAY
Heavenly Father, thank You for the good future that You have prepared for me. Today I choose to come into agreement with Your Word and declare Your blessing over my life. Keep me close to You as I surrender every area of my life to You. In Jesus' Name. Amen.
